LOS ANGELES, Nov 16th, 2020 – The H Collective (THC) announced plans to create a new Asian lifestyle TV documentary project in Hong Kong and Los Angeles, with the focus on esports and online gaming lifestyle for the next generation. This project is the first-ever Asian lifestyle content production targeting the generation under 29 years old who spend more time in the virtual world than in real life.

This pioneering project will be produced by THC Germany and THC China. Mark Rau, CEO of THC Germany and the former Vice President of Pro Gaming & Directing Manager of ESL Europe, is the producer of the project. In the past 6 years, he was a board member of Bastei LLC, CEO of Bastei Ventures GmbH and SVP of Global Business Development and M&A for Bastei Lübbe AG. He led the international expansion of the media business and set up an “IP Fund'' bridging Chinese Investors to Hollywood. Prior to Bastei Lübbe, Mark was the founder and CEO of the agency Gesamtkunstwerk Entertainment, which specialized in IP development and TV and Movie production. Previously, he worked as Directing Manager for the esports company Turtle Entertainment and worked as a TV and Movie producer for 15 years at several companies such as U5 Filmproduktion.

In October 2020, the League of Legends World Championship hosted in Shanghai reached the outstanding viewership of 139 million hours. Based on a NewZoo report, the global gaming population has reached 2.6 billion and is expected to exceed the number of soccer population of 3.5 billion in 5 years. With that said, esports is to become the most watched game in the world.

Aiming to become a major player in the global gaming industry, THC has been working with several leading esports partners to shape a huge gaming ecosystem. THC invested Sentinels, world’s leading esports team and home to two of the top esports World Champion and MVP players, Bugha (Fortnite) and Sinatraa (Overwatch) ; and XiKu, one of the largest esports facility companies in Shanghai. In addition, THC China is the sponsor of Honor of Kings 2020 regional tournament, one of the highest-grossing mobile games in the world published by Tencent. Another project under preparation is a Chinese esports feature film. Supported by Zhongxian (Chongqing, China), THC will start production in 2021.
